You can visit Nepal’s first Goat Cheese Factory in Chitlang. Mr. Ashok Singh Thakuri, owner of the Goat Cheese Factory and Goat Cheese Home Stay returned back from France with his knowledge of making goat cheese and then started a goat farm here at Chitlang locally. 

Later he started producing goat cheese (hard and soft) and supplied to major hotels in Kathmandu and nearby cities. He then started welcoming guests at his own home by running a traditional Nepali homestay called Goat Cheese Homestay. The Chitlang goat cheese homestay is still in operation and you’ll be welcomed with goat cheese and local wine if you visit there. 

School, college level students can visit this place to gather more knowledge about the goat types, goat farming and goat cheese and its production process. 

Others, can visit this place just to have a local product taste and may be spend sometime at the homestay in a very traditional / rural lifestyle of Nepal still alive.
